Let’s get pebbles in our boots As the motionless sky gradients And the mountains turn grapefruit Let’s get out of our dents And escape from faux wood panels, scuffed beige walls, the popcorn ceiling, the off-white cracked molding, and our haphazard decor Before the sky petals white Upon a bright blue canvas Let’s take a gander of pink mangroves And Soviet Yellow Macaws Being swallowed by golden seas As an anaconda consumes a mule deer Let’s not let our days be colored by Jolly Roger Or find ourselves in plastic cities Nor allow our canopies to be ousted by repetitious roof tiles Or let our lands be replaced by Saint Augustine grass Catching ourselves in American Standard white Let’s always be en route
